March 6, 2019Bought this to replace the battery in my original Roomba 2.1. Since iRobot no longer sells the batteries I had to either finally replace the system or find a different battery which I've been tempted to do since the system is almost 11 years old now. However, this seems to work perfectly and my robot is back to life and works the exact same as it did with to iRobot batteries.
I would highly recommend trying these if you are in my situation and are thinking about replacing the whole system just because you can't find a replacement battery. October 10, 2017Bought this battery to replace an identical one I got 3 years ago.
The last one was used regularly and, honestly, I'm surprised it lasted 3 years. But, since it did, I figured the best replacement was one just like it. The new one just ran for over an hour before I shut it down and the power button was still showing green. I use to buy just the batteries to rebuild these packs. However, I can not buy quality batteries for what I spent on these ready-to-use packs. I'm sure you can spend more, but I'm not sure you will find a battery that's better enough to be worth the extra cost. June 29, 2017I rarely write reviews, but this deserves one.
My Roomba 4210 has been dormant for a few years. I'd replaced the batteries with after market units twice and was never that impressed. This one from Powerextra is way better than the original. We have a two dogs that generate a lot of hair, some days it seems like I've got mini dog hair tumbleweeds in my hallway. I've run the Roomba every night for the last 4 days, the run time is between 90 and 120 minutes.
Way more than I expected. I do have to de-tangle the brush and empty the dust bin a few times (3) in the cycle. By doing this the Roomba gets a longer run time as the motor is not fighting to turn the wheels and brushes that are bound with hair. Please note I did fully charge the battery for 12 hours and run it down fully each time.
I do not leave it charging once the charge is complete. I think these steps will prolong the life of the battery.If I get 6 to 12 month out of it I'd still be happy. I would definitely recommend this. January 22, 2017I've had it 2 weeks and now it won't hold a charge. The longest it lasted on hardwood was 40 minutes the first time I used it and the last 2 times it lasted less than 10 minutes so it's defective.Update: #1I was offered another battery to try and I've had it about 1 month it last 1 hour on hardwood floors. They ask me to upgrade my review so since I've only been using it for 1 month I'm only going to upgrade it to 3 stars if it's still working after 6 months I'll come back and give it 5 stars. The customer service I would give 5 stars.Update #2I've had this battery about 5 months and use it once a week, it still lasting about 1 hour so I'm bumping up my review to 5 stars.
For the price it's a good deal if you get a good one.Update #3The battery is now 10 months old and still runs 1 hour on hardwood floors, I vacuum once a week. January 13, 2016This fit my Roomba 415 (4150 according to the serial/model number decoding) very nicely and has worked great so far.REMEMBER: Before deciding to buy a new battery, perform the Battery Reconditioning Procedure to make sure it's truly dead. (this may vary based on model, but it works well for mine)1) Remove battery from Roomba2) Press & Hold power button for 10-seconds3) Replace battery and allow to charge 12+ hoursI did this with my old battery and got it working for a few more cycles before it absolutely died. You'll end up buying a new battery anyway, but this procedure may help your Roomba continue to work while the new battery is being delivered to you. And it helps ensure your old battery fulfilled its ENTIRE life of service. Best wishes.:). January 3, 2016When the original battery on my Roomba quit charging properly, I was not sure whether it was the battery that went bad or something else was wrong with the vacuum.
So, I took the conservative approach and bought this extra capacity battery at only a slightly higher cost than the other replacements of the same amperage as the original battery. After I charged this battery up the first time, I was pleasantly surprised (kind of shock) that my vacuum ran twice as long as before. The vacuum time even gets better after a couple charges. I was very happy with this product!
Installing Osmo Software Upgrade Roomba 400 Pro
This cable has a variety of uses, but the main function is to upgrade an old firmware to the newer firmware. If your roomba is older (generally older than September of 2005) then you may have the old firmware that does not have the built in scheduling function. You can use this cable to connect the roomba to your scheduling remote (not included) and it will update your firmware to be compatible. Occasionally your roomba's firmware may get corrupted and act crazy. This should also fix that (if used with remote to send updates to your roomba). This can be used in place of the OSMO upgrade.
